Biografia
Veli-Ville Sivén on Helsingissä asuva skenografi, muusikko ja valotaiteilija. Sivénin tarkasti visualisoimia näyttämöteoksia on nähty Suomessa kuin myös Euroopassa videon, lavastuksen ja valojen muodossa nykyteatterista tanssiin. Hän on tehnyt musiikkia niin kaupunginteattereihin ja vaikuttanut myös undeground maailman bändikokoonpanoissa, kuten Eleanoora Rosenholm. Valotaiteen saralla Sivénin teoksia on nähty osana näyttämöteoksia, Lux Helsingissä ja lisäksi hän toimi Light Station 2019 -valofestivaalin taiteellisena johtajana. Viime aikoina Sivén on ollut kiinnostunut modernismista ja abstrakteista muodoista, joissa piilee Sivénin mielestä yhä jotakin sanoittamatonta ja toismaailmallista voimaa, jonka tutkimisessa on vieläkin paljon ammennettavaa. Lisäksi Sivén on perustanut yhdessä Joel Härkösen kanssa redukt_ taidekollektiivin ja studion, ja he ovat luoneet nykyteatterin taiteellista menetelmää, jota he kutsuvat “oikeesti tekemiseksi”.
Biography
Veli-Ville Sivén is a scenographer, musician, and light artist based in Helsinki. Sivén's meticulously visualized stage works have been seen both in Finland and across Europe in the form of video, set design, and lighting, ranging from contemporary theatre to dance. He has composed music for city theaters and has also influenced the underground music scene with bands such as Eleanoora Rosenholm. In the field of light art, Sivén's works have been featured as part of stage productions, Lux Helsinki light festival, and he served as the artistic director of the Light Station 2019 light festival. Recently, Sivén has been interested in modernism and abstract forms, which he believes contain something ineffable and otherworldly power, offering much to explore. Additionally, Sivén, along with Joel Härkönen, has founded the redukt_ art collective and studio, where they have developed an artistic method for contemporary theater that they call "oikeesti tekeminen”.
